Kyle:

My name is Kyle Levy. I am the founder of UniHop. Our big goal is to make delivery easy and we like to think of ourself as the most flexible way to offer delivery to your customers.

Shaun:

What do you use GoShare for? Can you describe your working arrangement with GoShare?

Kyle:

So GoShare is really our go-to anytime we need something that’s out of the ordinary. GoShare is really good when it comes to big and bulky delivery, I really can’t think of another company that we currently work with that I can send an order to them and say I’m totally confident it’s going to get taken care of.

Shaun:

Thank you for that. I appreciate the compliment and I agree with your sentiment. Our specialty has been delivering big and bulky goods and we’ve kind of built our foundation on that and we’ve gotten really good at it over the years. I think one of the things that makes GoShare unique is the quality of the driver network, not only because of the large vehicles that we have but because we do such a good job of vetting them in advance and setting proper expectations with them upfront about what customer service should look like it usually ends up being a very good experience for all of our customers. So can you talk about where you use GoShare now geographically speaking for UniHop? Are you nationwide?

Kyle:

Everywhere, every major city. Yeah, even small cities. We do deliveries in Berlin, Connecticut. We actually started using GoShare a little bit in New Orleans because we were working with some other drivers there and weren’t thrilled with the experience we were getting.

Shaun:

What else would you say that you love about GoShare? Is there anything in particular that stands out that we haven’t talked about yet?

Kyle:

I’m a very critical person. I love the ability to have drivers that actually can assemble stuff and that they’re expecting to assemble it. It’s not like you put a note in and you cross your fingers that they’re going to do it. I mean, if you put assembly, they’re going to show up with the materials they need. So that’s a super nice piece. And the two person team, I’ll say from the other companies you work with, GoShare handles two person teams very well. It’s tough. Two person teams are very tough, especially when it’s a same day thing. You have to make sure everyone shows up on time. We had a two person project today pick up in 15 minutes. We had two drivers there in 15 minutes. A helper and a cargo van. That’s tough. That is not easy to do. So that ability to incentivize, even people that have the best pickup trucks, they’ll do helper projects because the structure is there. So I think that’s something that I really like about GoShare.

Shaun:

Yeah, that’s really good feedback. Thank you. And I would agree with you, the two person projects are definitely the trickier ones and I’ve seen other companies, they all have different systems and ways to manage it.  I think the way GoShare does it is about as good as it could be. Each person is treated as an individual. They get paid as an individual. They’re not paid as a team. They don’t have to do some backend split and argue about who gets what. I’ve seen that happen with some of the other players in the space, and some of them don’t even offer two person teams because it is tricky to coordinate. I think the system that we built allows us to do it quickly and efficiently where all the parties involved feel like they’re getting a fair deal.

Kyle:

And I’ve personally talked to drivers before that do helper projects, and one driver that I worked with who has an SUV, he does not really do big stuff. He’s like, if I see a helper project, I one hundred percent take it. Because honestly, it’s just fun. It’s fun to do something different.

Shaun:

Yeah. One of the cool things that I’ve heard in talking to our drivers throughout the years is a lot of them form friendships through GoShare. It’s really interesting. I’ve had guys tell me, “Hey, one of my good buddies, I met him while doing a GoShare project and he was a helper and we became friends and we stayed in touch” and I was like, “That’s actually pretty cool.” That was not something that I was anticipating when we started the company. What do you think sets GoShare apart from some of the other groups out there that are doing similar work?

Kyle:

Ease of guaranteeing you’re going to get a driver with the vehicle. So if I send an order to GoShare that’s a cargo van, I know I’m going to get a cargo van or a box truck, but I’m not going to have a guy who shows up in his sedan.

Shaun:

Yeah, that’s a good point. I think we’re probably one of the few companies out there that really separates drivers by vehicle type because yeah, if you need a cargo van and if sedan shows up, that’s not going to work for you. And we’ve had our system structured that way since day one. But it’s interesting because I’ve talked to so many of our customers and not many of them have mentioned that unique facet, but I’m happy that you did.
