Meet Anthony, the driver of the month for August! Anthony recently retired but decided to stay active by driving with GoShare.
GoShare: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Anthony: My name is Anthony. I’m an avid surfer. I love the beach, any type of water sport, especially if it involves the ocean. That’s my zen space, so to speak. I enjoy it. I have a few guitars, and if I’m just in the mood, I’ll pick up my instruments, and I’ll start playing. I do a little yoga too, so the total zen experience. I just recently retired, back in November, from the State of California. I took a couple months off, and then I decided, you know what, I needed something to do.
GoShare: Why do you like driving with GoShare?
Anthony: I like the app, how it’s streamlined. I like the flexibility. One of the main things that I wanted to do, after I retired, is I wanted to pick and choose my schedule. My schedule for…I think I’ve been thirty years, in government service, my schedule was dictated to me, “You’re going to work this hours, these hours,” and part of the thing was, hey I want to try out the sharing economy. I want to give this a try, I want to do something new. Working for GoShare, I get to meet different kinds of people from all different walks of life.
GoShare: Have you had any memorable jobs while driving with GoShare?
Anthony: There was a person that…she had to move out of her place, right away. It was a little bit late at night, and I accepted the job, spoke to the customer, and I could tell she was in a tight spot, so luckily I was there, we took care of it. She was very appreciative. On that aspect, it was good, I was glad to be able to be there. That’s what makes GoShare rewarding, also.
GoShare: Why should customers use GoShare?
Anthony: It’s much easier and less of a headache and less worry if you just hire GoShare. We can get you from point A, to point B, safely. I’ve been able to help people out of tough jams. You get last minute moves, somebody’s got to get out right away.
GoShare: What would you tell a friend who is thinking about driving with GoShare?
Anthony: I would tell them to go for it. My whole experience with GoShare has been a positive experience. By far, if you have a pickup truck, GoShare is the best.
