Shaun:

You’ve done really well at GoShare. You’ve gotten some really great feedback from customers and from the team. Can you share some of the reasons why you think you’ve been successful on the platform?

Julius:

First, to start with, I always ensure that whenever I see a project, before I accept it, I ensure that I have the right equipment to do it. Number two is communication. I always ensure that I communicate with the customers and with GoShare customer service team. That way I’m able to execute my project effectively.

Shaun:

Yeah, those are all great tips. I think especially the communication part is critical, making sure that you’re communicating with everyone involved. That includes the customer, the helper, potentially, if there is one, and also with GoShare’s support team. Those are all great points, thank you. If you put yourself in the customer’s shoes for a moment and think about it from that perspective, why do you think that customers choose GoShare?

Julius:

The delivery pros from GoShare are special. When one does a project and they get to do it again with the same customer, that customer is always happy to see you come back, I mean to perform a different project with them.

Shaun:

Yeah, I think those are great points. Making sure that the quality of the delivery professionals are high is, I think, really important and that certainly keeps our reputation strong and keeps customers coming back. The level of customer service that they come to expect is very high and it’s great. When we see delivery professionals like yourself getting great reviews from customers, what would you tell someone who is thinking about joining GoShare as a delivery professional?

Julius:

They must have the right equipment to be able to execute the projects well. They also have to be punctual. They have to be people who are capable of giving good customer service.

Shaun:

All great points. Punctuality, being on time is super important and being open to working with people and just being generally friendly and providing a high level of customer service. What sets GoShare apart from others in the industry that you’ve dealt with personally?

Julius:

GoShare’s compensation for the delivery pros is actually one of the best. When you look at other apps, you realize that sometimes they offer little compensation and then when they realize that no one is interested, that’s when they start raising their compensation. Number two, it is about the flexibility and the support that is given by the customer service team. GoShare’s customer service team is always available.

Shaun:

Thank you for sharing that, that’s really helpful. Both of those things are by design. I think first, when it comes to the compensation, we designed it to be fair. We understand that you have options as a delivery professional and we want you to choose GoShare, and I agree with your point that you made about not trying to send out low ball offers at first and then working your way up to something that’s maybe a little bit more reasonable if no one else is foolish enough to take it at the super low rate that was offered at first. I never liked that strategy myself either, and I think the offer should be reasonable from the get go. And then I’m happy that you mentioned the customer service team as well, that’s also by design. The support team is there to help you as a driver have a good outcome. Anything else that you really like about being a GoShare or a delivery professional that we haven’t spoke about already that’s worth mentioning?

Julius:

The different customers that GoShare has really makes it enjoyable to work with, the diversity that GoShare offers.

Shaun:

I think the diversity of customers is really important and that’s something that we’re looking to expand upon too. As we look forward to 2024, it’s good to have a combination of both business customers and consumers who are using GoShare to find a delivery professional like yourself. I think it makes it a little bit more exciting, a little more dynamic. You’re not doing the same kind of monotonous thing or route every single day and you get to meet some different and interesting people along the way.

Julius:

A person like me really appreciates being part of GoShare. And I should thank you for nominating me to be the delivery professional of the month. It’s not easy.

Shaun:

Yeah, you’re very welcome and yeah, it’s my pleasure. Honestly, I think we built GoShare from the start to make it easier and better for delivery professionals like yourself to connect with and just have a better experience when you’re doing these types of deliveries. The feedback that we get in general from customers and drivers is that they both really enjoy the platform. Alexandr:

Great customer service, great projects, great pay, and great communication. Mainly those all factors are making GoShare one step, even two steps ahead from the other ones.

My name is Emmanuel Harris. Most people call me Manny. I’m from Philadelphia. I live in Philly, Northeast Philadelphia. I came here when I was young. I’m from actually West Africa, Liberia. I have a 15-year-old son and then I had three girls. One of ’em are 11, yeah, 11, 6 and 4. When I go home, I’m all daddy. Daddy, that’s it. My wife gets to take a break and all that stuff. So that’s why I come out here and work really hard because when I go home, I know.

Shaun:

Yeah, good for you. Four kids is a lot. I have two daughters who are young, 4 and 1, and I think I have my hands full, but you definitely have your hands full.

Manny:

Definitely that man. Three girls and a boy. Yep.

Shaun:

Does your work with Goshare, do you feel like that kind of gives you more flexibility to spend more time with your kids when you want to?

Manny:

Yes. That’s actually part of the reason why I do this and I do this very well, is because I have that flexibility of basically being able to turn on my app and still earn a living and then when I go home I can just be focused with the kids.

Shaun:

Yeah, I’ve heard similar stories from a lot of our delivery professionals who really enjoy the flexibility. I think that’s one of the main things that attracts people to GoShare and it makes sense. Can you talk a little bit about your truck or van that you have?

Manny:

Yes. I have a E350 as a box truck, 16 foot. And I do also have a sprinter, a ProMaster as well too, so I use primarily the box truck to make deliveries and stuff like that because it is bigger and I can take more. I can get bigger orders and stuff like that. So for now, that’s what I’m primarily using, the box truck. Just a lot of work and where I’m at, so we’re staying busy.

Shaun:

Can you talk about some of your hobbies and things that you like to do for fun outside of GoShare?

Manny:

Of course my family, right? We do a lot of stuff together, but I do play basketball and I also workout after work or if I have some free time, I’m at the court playing with my guys, just street ball basically.

Shaun:

What advice do you have for other GoShare delivery professionals who are maybe just getting started and want to learn how to be successful on the platform?

Manny:

Read the detail of every job because the app that you guys have created is great and it’s so easy to use. So read the information because you guys are going to try your best to put enough information in there so that way we don’t get stuck on anything. So read information before accepting any job. Make sure that the order can fit your car because you don’t want to take something that’s not going to fit, because now that’s going to be a headache for the customer and GoShare and stuff like that. And then also try to be on time. If you can’t make it on time to a pickup spot to pick up the order, make sure that you don’t accept it because then you’re going to be late and stuff like that, and customers don’t like late. Same thing with the partners that we’re picking up from, that want their item delivered. So try to be on time for every job. And then also just communicate, really always reach out if you need help or contact the customers if you have to let ’em know what’s going on, that you got their order and you’re on their way to them so that way they know when to expect you.

Shaun:

Yeah, that’s excellent advice across the board. All the things that you said are really important. Communication is obviously key, really important to communicate. Reading all the details of the order is exceptionally important as well, and I appreciate how you recognize that we try to give you as much information as possible because we want you to be successful and we want it to go smoothly. Why do you think customers choose GoShare?

Manny:

I would say that the ease to use the app, I think that’s really good. And then having choices, there’s a lot of loads that are different sizes, so they have that option to, no matter how big or small the order is, GoShare can fulfill it with having different vehicle sizes and stuff like that. And then the communication too, because for what I have heard from customers is that the communication is there from customer service, they’re letting them know, “Hey, listen, your driver just picked up your order. They’re on their way.” Even when we are on route, “Hey, the guy is heading to go pick up your order now.” There’s a lot of information that is provided to the customer that kind of helped me out as a driver. So that way when I get there, I already know you guys already set that foundation.

Shaun:

Yeah, that’s a good point. And yeah, I think it’s really, it’s always helpful to have the customer support team behind you to assist you and make sure that not only are you well-informed, but also the customer. What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining GoShare for the first time?

Manny:

I would say if you like a good company, I would say, come on board and join GoShare, because you won’t regret it because they have a strong team behind them, alright. The customer service is excellent, the communication is there. And then the app man, honestly the app is really great.

Shaun:

Do you find that GoShare’s app is better than some of the other ones that you’ve seen out there?

Manny:

Yes. I want to say it’s the best because like I mentioned earlier, there’s a lot of information that some apps won’t even tell you, right? You just got to go with this.

Shaun:

Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that. And yeah, and that’s by design. I think we want to be as transparent as we can when we’re sending you the order information from the customers because it’s not fair to withhold pertinent information because what ends up happening is you might accept a delivery order and then you get there and you find out that you can’t do it for some reason, and then you just wasted a ton of your time and that’s not fair. And so we designed the app to be as transparent as we can. We pass along all the information that we have from the customer to you so that you can make an informed decision about if you want to accept this particular delivery or not. Because you always have the option to either accept it or reject it. Is there anything else that you’ve seen that kind of sets GoShare apart from its competitors?

Manny:

The customer service is great. Yeah, that’s what I like. The customer service, the team that Brandy, Corina – I know that if we’re getting the service, obviously the customer is probably getting that service too. As a driver we have that customer service from you guys that we can reach out to you guys for anything. So I’m sure the customer’s getting that. The customer service is great, I like that a lot. I haven’t had any complaint with any of my customers. “Oh yeah, they text me that you was on your way and you’re here. Wow.” So that’s really good.

Shaun:

I agree. I think our customer service is top notch, and you’re right, it’s both for you as a driver and also for the customers. Because we consider everyone a customer. We consider the delivery professionals customers. We consider the customers, customers and we try to treat everybody fairly and equally and it usually ends up being a good experience for everybody because of that.

James:

My name is James and I work with GoShare. I’m a contractor with them, and I’m out of Los Angeles, California and go down to San Diego and run that area also, and do a little bit of work with both and everywhere in between, actually, Long Beach, the Greater Los Angeles, Anaheim area, all over Southern California.

Shaun:

It looks like you’re a good photographer. Is that one of your hobbies?

James:

Yeah, it is one of my hobbies, I just have a knack for getting cool shots. So once I got the van I was like, “Oh, it’s so cool.” I’m taking pictures left and right with it.

Shaun:

That’s cool. Any other hobbies? What else you do other than photography outside of GoShare?

James:

Obviously driving or I wouldn’t be like all over the place with this. I grew up go-karts and cars. I had an automotive shop for a while. I ended up going ahead and stopping my rent there and buying the cargo van and getting away from that. But I still do auto repair on the side. And some of my family is in drag racing so we’ll be at the track a lot and go check them out and see what they’re doing. And I’ve got behind the wheel of a couple of their race cars before and that’s fun, fun stuff. So that’s a big hobby is cars.

Shaun:

That’s awesome. Well, I think we have a hobby in common then if you could see my background.

James:

I see the GoShare race car up there.

Shaun:

Yeah, we love racing. And, yeah, one of our first angel investors owns a racing team and so we were the sponsor of his racing team and then we ended up getting into the NASCAR truck series for a year and it was a lot of fun.

James:

Oh, wow.

Shaun:

Why do you think customers choose GoShare? What do you think that customers like about it?

James:

It’s just so much easier than renting a truck or whatever. You don’t have to worry about returning the truck, let’s say. Putting gas in it, all that. The price is all included in what we do and they don’t have to do anything but go on an app and just set it up, put the information in, get a quote and go forward with it. And then they don’t have to do anything. They can help if they want. If they don’t want to unload and load anything, they don’t have to. They can request another person to be there to help. It’s through GoShare also. So they love it. It’s just like it’s the simplest thing and it’s efficient for them.

Shaun:

What would you tell someone who is thinking about driving with GoShare?

James:

Well, first off, you really got to love to run around and you got to love to drive. If you don’t like being on the road, it’s probably not for you. That’s the starting place. Now, you also, you got to say it, the second biggest thing, and maybe it’s the first biggest thing really, is you got to be a people person. That’s what I feel. You got to be a people person to make it work because you are going to deal with, or I don’t want to say deal with, you’re just going to have your clientele, the people that are paying you, are the ones that different types of people that you come in contact with and you just got to want to be friendly. And as far as the team with GoShare behind the scenes on the phones and in the office, great customer support, and I couldn’t do what I do without that.

Shaun:

Those are great points. I think you’re right. Generally, being a people person in this type of environment is really helpful, because you are going to interact with and deal with a lot of people. You’re going to deal with customers directly. You’re going to deal with our customer support team occasionally. And you’re going to deal with other delivery professionals, other helpers for those larger jobs to move those big and bulky items. So, yeah, you do have to be comfortable dealing with and working with other people. You have to want to be a team player, so to speak. Even though sometimes you are just really working for yourself. So you’ve done, it looks like a couple hundred projects. You’ve got a perfect five star rating, so congrats on that. That’s really impressive.

James:

Shaun:

What advice do you have for other delivery professionals who are maybe newer and want to be highly rated and provide a great service?

James:

I would say the money comes from keeping a good rating. Ask a few questions first. Is there anything I need to know? Is there anything that needs to be protected more than it does when we’re moving? Just anything that you can find out from the customer first. You start with the customer, not the product we’re moving for them, not the item. Start with the customer. That’s what keeps a good rating, I believe.

Shaun:

What do you think sets GoShare apart from the competition?

James:

You’ve got a great team. They’re looking at both sides, I find it. Like we talked about before with balancing the customer experience with the driver experience. Some of these apps, I think, and not from my experience, but what I’ve been talked to by other people who have told me, other drivers, that they don’t necessarily look at both sides as well. They don’t represent the driver as well as GoShare seems to. Everything is always being updated as far as different pricing or what we’re being paid. It’s always being looked at, which is great. It’s not like, “Oh, it’s one set price that you’re going to get paid as a driver and then 10 years from now it’s going to be the same thing.” It’s always being monitored for the times, changing with the times.

Shaun:

Great point. Pricing is dynamic. It does fluctuate and it varies in different locations too, and at different times of the year, and different economic circumstances. Well, James, it was really great meeting you. Thank you so much for the feedback.

James:

You’ve, you’ve been a high performing GoShare driver for a while, thank you for that. Curious to hear outside of GoShare, what are some things that you do for fun? What kind of hobbies do you have?

Andric:

I go out with my wife, I spend time with my family. Most of my family’s not here, it’s in Cuba, so I just spend time doing a lot of things, like working on trailers. I build trailers, repair trailers.

Shaun:

Interesting that your family’s from Cuba. Did you grow up in Cuba or did you grow up here in the US?

Andric:

I moved here when I was 15 and just been working a lot since I got here. I don’t take days off. I’m always working, so.

Shaun:

Yeah, I know the feeling. It’s not easy running a business. It looks like you’ve done about 500 or so deliveries for GoShare, which is awesome. Why do you think customers choose GoShare?

Andric:

I think because of the customer service, the drivers. I have worked with different companies and GoShare so far is the best company. You have the best customer service, the best drivers too. We go above and beyond. We’re responsible, we take pictures of the deliveries, we make sure the load is safe, we drive safe and every time I go to a business they always say good things about GoShare, one of the best customer service, so if not the best. Shout out to Brandi, she’s really good, she’s always paying attention to the chat. If I have any questions, you send a message and she right away is on it and she have a lot of knowledge, so.

Shaun:

Great, yeah. Thank you for that. I’ll definitely let her know. She’ll be excited to hear that, I’m sure. Brandi is awesome. What would you tell someone who was thinking about working with GoShare?

Andric:

I say go ahead and do it. It’s like the best company out there. Their pay is way, way better than other companies. You guys have cancellation fees for if customer cancel the job, you guys have fair rates, you guys give details about the jobs. I’ve been with GoShare over a year, no issues at all. I love working with GoShare. It’s like almost my full-time job to be honest.

Shaun:

Yeah, obviously pay is important and we realize that it’s a competitive market out there so we always do try to pay drivers really well because we understand that, you know, have choices. GoShare is not the only game in town per se, but it’s also great to hear that there’s other things that you like about it too. Even the details about getting all the information about the pickup and drop off. I think that is really important and we try to be transparent about that and I have seen some other apps out there that give very few details and it’s really hard to make a decision about a load if you don’t have all the information available. What advice would you give to other GoShare delivery professionals?

Andric:

You’ve got to be really responsible. Don’t take a project if you’re not going to be able to make it and look at the details before you take it. Like I said, already mentioned, look at the details before you take it. You don’t want to go to the store, a simple, like a Lowe’s, you show up there with your vehicle and then they have lumber and it’s bigger than your vehicle. You’re making customer wait. If you’re working with GoShare, especially like I work with GoShare, I want to see GoShare succeed. I don’t want to see them fail or lose business and I don’t want bad reputation, so that’s one of the things I advise every week. I go to Lowe’s and they mention, “Hey, I’m glad you’re here,” because they already know me. I do most of the projects here and they be, “Hey, I’m glad you’re here” because they have 16 feet lumber or 14 feet lumber and they say, “Oh a guy who wants go with it in a Toyota Prius showed up.”

Shaun:

Oh no.

Andric:

I’m like, what? What’s happen?

Shaun:

Oh no.

Andric:

They have that issue, so. Always have the right vehicle.

Shaun:

Yes. That’s important. Yes, try, yeah. Trying to get 16 foot lumber with the Prius, that’s a disaster waiting to happen. Oh my goodness. That’s exactly why GoShare was created so that people can avoid making that mistake. It sounds like you’ve tried other maybe similar apps or businesses out there in this industry. What would you say sets GoShare apart from the competition?

Andric:

The pay from GoShare separates from the other company. You guys have probably double, triple time the pay of other companies and I love also the customer service.

Shaun:

Can you explain how the promo code works for drivers?

Alexandr:

Whenever you give the customer your promo code, let’s say mine is ALEXAND1083, and the customer likes your work, the quality, your friendliness, and they want to use you again and saying, “How we can call you?” And all the time I’m saying, “Use the GoShare, use my promo code, call me to the GoShare and I’ll be glad to complete the project again.” And I got probably lots of promo code repeat calls from the customers whenever they want me to come. And it comes directly to me, and I believe it’s five minutes, it shows up on my phone until it goes to someone else’s. And it’s really great because you already know you got a job over there planned for next day or the other day. Actually, I can tell with the Scholastic I had probably 27 times my promo code used during November and December months, just with them alone. And it’s helpful. There’s a job just particularly for you, and customer wants you to take care of them.

Shaun:

I’m happy you mentioned that because it is an important tool for drivers. If you do a great job, you give the customer your promo code and they will request you directly. It’s a great way to get repeat business from customers after you do a great job. Yeah, now I know why you’re doing so well, because you take advantage of all the features that we have built for drivers. So, good job.

Shaun:

What is your first name and where do you live?

Alexandr:

First name is Alexandr and I live in McKinney, Texas, currently.

Shaun:

What kind of truck do you have today?

Alexandr:

I have a box truck. It’s a Ford Transit, E350 HD box truck with a lift gate, which helps a lot. If I take care of the truck, do all the preventive maintenance on a timely manner, it goes forever.

Shaun:

Tell me a little bit more about what you do for fun. What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

Alexandr:

As I’m getting a little older, I spend more time with my kids, try to go to their activities. It’s kind of my hobby now. Spend as much as I can with them because they are growing almost out of college.

Shaun:

I have two young daughters myself and I’m like, I’m just watching them grow up and it seems like I go away for a couple days. I come back and they’re bigger and they’re smarter. It’s fun to watch. Why do you think customers choose GoShare based on what you’ve seen?

Alexandr:

If you show great customer service to them from beginning until the end, they love GoShare. They are saying it’s easy to use the app, user-friendly, no hidden fees. One customer said-

Shaun:

No one likes hidden fees.

Alexandr:

Yes, working with the Scholastic for example, they love the GoShare because they use me almost 30 times during November and December. Even if we need to work 6, 7, 8 pm we do. We go extra mile. If they ask for the extra stuff to do, we don’t say, “Oh, it’s too late.” Well, I can tell for myself, I’ll go extra mile and just make them happy. Personally by myself, if I’ll have a GoShare orders all day long, I can handle seven, eight orders per day easily.

Shaun:

No surprise that you were the highest performing driver last year in terms of the number of deliveries and also I think in terms of your rating was exceptionally high. It was almost like a perfect five out of five, so yeah. Yeah, great job and yeah, whatever you’re doing, keep it up. You’re doing a great job over there. What advice would you have for other GoShare drivers who are maybe new and starting off and maybe want to get some tips from someone who’s got some experience?

Alexandr:

This job is not delivering cargo from Point A to Point B. This job has so many details from the beginning starting from calling the customer, making sure that exactly what they needed, whatever they describe on the app, because sometimes it changes. Make sure spend extra five minutes, six minutes in the back of your truck. If you need to use extra straps to strap all the items, just do it because you won’t regret it. It’s better to spend extra five minutes than deal with all these claims and customer dissatisfaction and all other stuff lately, just extra five minutes. Just secure your cargo and be nice with a customer from the beginning, very nice and friendly with a smile. After I’m done, I’ll send them, “Thank you for the business. Here’s my promo code, ALEXAND1083 with GoShare. If you like the quality of my business, please use my service again.”

Shaun:

All three of those reasons are why you’ve gotten great reviews so far from our customers, so all good advice. Thank you. Yeah, now I know why you’re doing so well because you take advantage of all the features that we have built for drivers, so good job. What would you tell someone who is thinking about driving with GoShare, whether they have a truck, a van, or a car?

Alexandr:

It’s really user-friendly. The reps, whomever I talked before, they are really helpful. Never had any issues with any of them, with the GoShare team, customer service team, and on the financial side, I don’t remember even working for almost two years for the GoShare, I had any issues. If anything is questionable, it got fixed immediately. You don’t have to go back and forth. It’s like I can’t say any negative or complaining.

Shaun:

What sets GoShare apart from some of the other competitors from your perspective?

Alexandr:

I was in the Army. I would say because it’s on demand, it’s convenient. Customers, I feel like they want to be able to access a service right away. And for the whole platform, I mean, it is easy to operate. I feel like people want to get things delivered right on time, right then and there, so it’s convenient. It’s really convenient. I’ve never been on any other platform. But just from what the customers say, they’re saying that GoShare is the top, top notch, pretty much the number one that they use.

Shaun:

That’s great. And I’m not surprised. We’ve been doing it now for about seven years. And we’ve taken the platform from something very basic to a very robust and useful tool for both the delivery professionals and for the customers.

Paul:

It is very profitable. You can make pretty good money on the platform if you work smart. The key is work smarter, not harder, of course. But it is very profitable, I would say. When I say work smarter, I would say make sure you use your equipment properly. Like I said, make sure you have your dolly, your ratchet straps. I would basically say your essentials to get the job done easier. Instead of putting a refrigerator on your back or picking up a microwave, make your equipment work for you. Try to accept as many jobs as you can, for one. And make sure you’re on time, never late, because that shows big. Customers, they don’t want their product late, so that’s big. It’s a good platform. I mean, like I said, make money. I mean, you can make pretty good money on the platform compared to the other ones. One of the Lowe’s customers, they’re showing appreciation of me. They start, I guess, remembering who I am and everything, and they really showed their appreciation from it. I told them my name and everything. They remember my name. And they’re like, “Yeah, you’ve been doing a good job.” And that felt good. So, just showing appreciation.
