Meet Ernest, our driver of the month for January 2022. His hard work and dedication was noticed by some of top business partners. He explains why he enjoys working with GoShare and provides some pro tips!
Shaun:
What are you most proud of as a GoShare driver?
Ernest:
I’m your number one guy in the United States right now.
Shaun:
Oh, congratulations. You checked the leaderboard, huh?
Ernest:
It’s on the dashboard. And it said one, and I’m like, okay. Let me see how long I can hold this number one spot. And I’ve held it all month. And I’m like, okay, let’s go!
Shaun:
Not surprised. If you’re picking up those Tesla deliveries, they’re very valuable in the dollar amounts.
Ernest:
They are.
Shaun:
Yeah, if you’re picking up those and running around up and down the east coast, I have no doubt that you’ll you’ll stay number one.
Shaun:
How does GoShare help you save money?
Ernest:
We know that those tolls can get really expensive. And when we have a company that backs us on the tolls, that makes it much more worthwhile to invest and continue investing our equipment for you.
Shaun:
That’s great feedback. I’m really happy you mentioned it. It’s funny because we did that on day one, and we kind of just did it because we thought it was the right thing to do.
Ernest:
It is.
Shaun:
I know because I grew up in New Jersey, and I know firsthand. If you want to cross into New York or into Philly, you’re paying-

Shaun:
What advice do you have for other drivers?
Ernest:
I change my own oil.
Shaun:
That helps a lot, too.
Ernest:
I taught myself how to change my own oil. So now I purchase my oil online. Actually on Amazon I purchase my oil, oil filter. I use an oil stabilizer as well because we drive so much. And I purchase it in bundles, so for the month. So I purchase a month worth of oil supply because I change my oil every Saturday. I say, all right. I’m about to drive 4,000 miles this week. And that’s literally what I do. With GoShare I drive about 4,000 miles a week with GoShare.
Shaun:
Wow.
Ernest:
Since January, I have driven for GoShare 40,000 miles.
Shaun:
No kidding. That’s a lot.
Ernest:
No kidding.
Shaun:
That definitely should put you up at the top of the leaderboard then.
Ernest:
So I said to myself, I’m spending about $450 a month on oil, and I noticed that half of that was labor.
Shaun:
Yeah.
Ernest:
Right? So I said, well, I can change it myself.
Shaun:
You could do it. For sure.
Ernest:
Yeah. So I went ahead, and I said, I’m just going to change my own oil. And I invested in ramps and an oil filter tool to take it off. And it’s so simple to do. You do it three times, you can do it with your eyes closed.
Shaun:
Yeah. Those are the types of little things that really can help you increase your earnings by decreasing your costs.
Ernest:
Yeah. For sure.
Shaun:
Because like you said, with oil changes half the cost is labor. And so if you can invest a little bit of money upfront, learn how to do it yourself, within probably a month or two your savings started kicking in.
Ernest:
When you’re serious about this, and you see how much income you can earn through GoShare, you then become very serious, and you’re like, this is my business.
Shaun:
