Tail Lights – Demonstrate working lights

Turn Signals – Demonstrate working lights, both sides, front and back

Brake Lights – Demonstrate working lights

Windshield – Clear shot of windshield

Windshield Wipers – Demonstrate wipers turning on/off

Bumpers – Clear shot of front and back bumpers

Rear Window – Clear shot of the rear window

Interior and Exterior Rear View Mirrors – Clear shot of rearview and side mirrors

Emergency/Parking Brake – Press emergency brake and show the light

Steering Mechanism – Have someone film you doing a 3-point or K turn

Dashboard – Film the dashboard when vehicle is on, showing any warning lights. A check engine light will cause your vehicle to fail the inspection.

Speedometer – Have someone film the speedometer while driving, accelerate faster than 25 miles per hour, do not attempt solo

Muffler and Exhaust – Give the engine a rev so we can hear the exhaust, do not attempt solo

Brake Pads – Have someone film the car from the rear as you pull forward a short distance then come to a complete stop

Horn – Beep the horn

Safety belts – Demonstrate driver safety belt

Tire check – Conduct the penny test on all four tires (see below).
